“In my job as a sales rep I am in increasing contact with English-speaking customers. Outside of work, when I go abroad I find English is the language that everyone understands.
That’s why I asked my company for a 40-hour course funded through the DIF program, so that I could improve my English skills.
My course lasted 2 weeks on the basis of 4 hours a day. With a British teacher I worked on grammar, spelling and vocabulary, all through fun exercises. Then I worked with a Canadian teacher to improve my speaking and listening skills, again through many types of exercise. Thanks to this professional learning structure I easily progressed in English. Now I feel more comfortable talking in English.”
