Our Interpreting Services

A professional service for your international conferences, meetings and exchanges. Our dedicated team of interpreters works in numerous languages covering many domains.

Interpreting is an exercise where dialogues are orally translated. There are different types or methods of interpreting that depend on the nature of the event:

Liaison interpreting: here the interpreter summarizes information and keeps listeners updated. This method is used with small groups of people, (often with some notions of the other language) or with guided tours, as people stop to listen to explanations.

Consecutive interpreting: here the interpreter takes notes as the orator speaks, and then translates, therefore there is an alternation between original dialogue and translation. This method is particularly suited to events such as press conferences or prize-giving ceremonies.

Simultaneous interpreting: with this method 2 interpreters translate elocutions as they are being spoken. This intense style of interpreting is the most complete;  interpreters can translate between 6,000 and 9,000 words in an hour. As this requires a high degree of concentration, the interpreters usually work in an interpreting booth, and relay each other every 20 or 30 minutes.

ILS interpreters work with their mother tongues in a broad scope of professional fields. The interpreting team is the ideal relay for all your intercultural exchanges; our key words are reliability, flexibility and discretion.

To guarantee a high level of quality it is advisable to give the interpreting team any relevant glossaries or documents to help them prepare for the mission. Speakers should be aware that they are being translated and, where possible, use a microphone. To help the interpreting process it is also preferable for the interpreters to have a direct visual contact with speakers.

Should you be interested in finding out more about our interpreting services, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our interpreting coordinator will help you prepare for any event requiring interpreting services.

Our mission: to be the interface between you and your foreign counterparts, to facilitate interaction.

Our Translation Services

Translation is a written exercice and our team of translators works on a broad spectrum of written media, from press articles to manuals, brochures to websites. Our team of specialists is available for work in all domains in most modern languages.

Translation requires many different skills. Not only do translators put together the words in sentences, they also work on translating authors' intention and expression. Translators must therefore have a very high level of communication and writing skills combined with a solid knowledge of socio-cultural elements. Translators also carry out a great deal of research to find the exact words they require.

Our team can also provide proof-reading, writing support, glossary creation, archiving, dubbing and general language interaction services. Please contact us for further information.
